Manaslu short Budget hiking Itinerary

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola (710m). Duration: 8-9 hrs
With a good morning breakfast, the journey begins by 4wd drive through the Prithvi Highway and through the side road that also includes off-road drive continually to Soti Khola. It is the gat way of the Manaslu trekking. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 02: Trek to Machha Khola (900m) Duration: 5-6 hrs
The first-day trek begins with the exciting feet on the terraced hillside. Most of the trail goes up and down of the Budi Gandaki River valley and uphill through the forest. Passing the Khursane village, there lays the Lapu Besi, which is densely populated by the ethnic Gurung people. Crossing numerous suspension bridges, there lays Machha Khola. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 03: Trek to Jagat (1340m) Duration: 6 hrs
Today's trek begins after crossing the wooden bridge right after the breakfast at Machha Khola. On the way, the natural hot spring lies, this is called Tatopani. If you want, you can also enjoy the hot spring bath that is a cure for various skin diseases. Walking further, cross another bridge and reach to the juncture. A step ahead, there lays Jagat village. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 04: Trek to Philim (1700m) Duration: 5 hrs 
From Jagat, the trail moves towards Sirdibas as the trek embarks after the breakfast. Walking through the Ghatte Khola and crossing a bridge, the next hillside is known as Philim, which is a Gurung village. You may take a side trip to the monastery that is situated in the village. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 05: Philim to Deng (2095m) Duration: 5 hrs
The foothill journey through the terraced hillside leads you to Eklai Bhatti from Philim. After having lunch, the downhill trails leads to the Riverbank again and crossing it, catch the eastern trail. Walking along the Deng Khola (stream), it leads to Deng, which is a spectacular settlement in this region. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 06: Deng to Namrung (2900m) Duration: 5 hrs
Right after the trek embarks, there is a Rana village on another ridge for which crossing the suspension bridge is essential. Another couple of villages lie on the trail is known as Bihi and Ghap. The stunning views of the white peaks, including Mt.  Manaslu, takes your breath away. Reaching Namrung, there comes an opportunity to explore the monastery and chhorten. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 07: Namrung to Samagaon (3500m) Duration: 6 hrs
As the trek leads towards the alpine region, the beautiful scenery begins to appear. The snowy peaks and the enticing alpine zone are just incredible. Passing various mountain settlements as Lho and Sho, the ancient monasteries and chhortens welcome to walk further. The steady walk leads to Sama Gaon, which is a typical Tibetan Buddhist village with numerous heritage sites. Overnight at lodge.  

Day 08: Acclimatization day at Samagaon.
As the trek has led a pretty higher altitude, it is better to take an acclimation rest. Samagaon is the best place for that. After the breakfast, walk around the village and towards the Manaslu base camp, which offers the astounding Himalayan views of Manaslu and Nagdi Chuli. Spending some awesome moment, back to Sama Gaon. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 09: Samagaon to Samdo (3690m) Duration: 3 hrs
After the breakfast at Samagaon, the trek embarks through the Tibetan Buddhist communities and the wonderful green hillside. Almost, the trail is an uphill walk that continually leads you to Samdo, which is a tiny but picturesque village. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 10: Samdo to Dharmashala (4450m) Duration: 4 hrs
The trek begins through the treeless region, which turns to be the alpine meadows. Very few houses are found on the trail. On the way, the spiritual Mani walls and stone huts are located. Stopping at Dharmashala, enjoy exploring the local surroundings. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 11: Dharamshala to Bhimphedi (3590m) via Cross Larkya La pass (5220m) Duration: 8 hrs
This is the most challenging and most exciting day of the Manaslu circuit trek. The trek begins early in the morning, ascending through the steep rock dominated trail. Larke La Pass is located at 5160 meters altitude, which is an enchanting viewpoint of Mt. Manaslu, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal and the surrounding peaks. Stepping towards the Annapurna side is slippery and has to pay special attention, especially during the snowfall. The trek leads to Bhimphedi to today's rest. Overnight at lodge. 

Day 12: Bhimphedi to Dharapani 
Walking through Surke, the trek from Bhimphedi embarks right after the breakfast. The trail is fine and almost through the pine forest, descending to the Marshyangdi River. Various tiny villages lie on the trail, including Gho and Tilije. Dharapani is today's destination that lies in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 13: Dharapani to Kathmandu by Jeep / Bus
With 7-8 hours Jeep drive, you reach to Kathmandu enjoying the views at the Marshyangdi and Trishuli River valley. Transferring in the hotel, you have the rest of the time for your personal use. Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 14: Departure

Accommodations

When you are in Kathmandu, from standard to five-star hotel accommodations are available. During the trek to Manaslu, clean with basic accommodation lodges is available, which is also known as the tea house. Boundless Adventure arranges the lodge with basic facilities. It is not possible to find luxury accommodations at a higher altitude over 3000 meters, but our team will organize you the best among the available ones.

Meals

Breakfast will be included in Kathmandu and all meals are included on package trekking. Although you will be on the mountain, you can have varieties of meals that can be selected from the menu. From Dal Bhat (typical Nepali meal) to the Indian and continental items are available every tea houses or restaurants during the trek to Manaslu. 

Water

Drinking-Water normally will be the boiled that you can get in the tea house. Another alternative is, filling from the stream or from hilly sources. You should use a purifying tablet or liquid to make it worth to drink. 

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Being an adventurous trek, Manaslu trekking trip usually holds 1 acclimatization day. It is highly beneficial for the trekkers for the altitude adaptation. 6-7 usual walking hours during the trek is sufficient except the walking days from Dharmasala to cross over the Larke Pass. Having moderate physical fitness is suitable for the trek. It would be nice to have previous trekking experience, however, the first time trekkers will succeed the trek with rest and acclimatization day. But, your medical conditions and health consultants' advice should be followed by you. Nepal Hiking Trekking team brings first-aid medical kits during the trek.

Best Time to Trekking

The best time for the Manaslu trekking is Spring (March to Jun) and Autumn (September to December). The temperature is moderate in these seasons and guarantees amazing views through the trip. Although this trek can be undertaken during the winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.

Trip Important

We, the team of Boundless Adventure company, we are organizing the Manaslu circuit Trekking with best arrangements. However, some time can be some issues that are beyond our control. You are unable to cross Larkey-La due to bad weather and return back the same way to Jagat, So, if you have to stay extra overnight, you need to cover the cost of food and accommodation. As an alternative, helicopter charter service is available that can bring you on time to Kathmandu. So, you need to keep this thing in mind so that you will not miss any important things.

TIMS and Permit

TIMS (Trekkers'  Information Management System) and Permit are necessary for the legal trekking in Manaslu. It can be obtained once you provide passport's copy and photo for the trek. It is restricted trekking area, you need to have special trekking permits with you. However, the original passport is needed for the restricted area trekking permit.
