Bhutan is a small landlocked country, situated between Tibet and India. Thimpu is the capital city of Bhutan. It is a center for dense wildlife, flora and fauna. The rich natural sceneries, distinct culture, traditional lifestyles, numerous festivals and unspoiled biodiversities have contributed Bhutan to be an attractive tourist destination in the world. The country preserves its natural and cultural heritages very well. It is a Buddhist Vajrayana nation, also known as the kingdom of the Thunder Dragon.

The Bhutanese society is class and caste less. Guru Padmasambhava introduced Buddhism in the 8th century in this country. Cultural aspects of Bhutan are prosperous which is striking fact for cultural tour and research. Bhutanese eats the varieties of rice with chilly and spicy ingredients. They do special rituals and perform at the birth, marriage and death ceremony. Their dresses are unique and similar to the monks. There are thirteen traditional arts and crafts, divided at the base of geographic and ethnic groups. According to the ethnic groups, People of the Bhutan can be classified into three main groups: the Tshanglas, Ngalops and Lhotshampas. Bhutanese national language is Dzongkha.

There are climatic variations in Bhutan. The influence of Indian monsoons and the great differences in the country’s altitude credit for the variations.72% of the country is covered by the forests. Bhutan has become an ecological attraction in the world due to its wilderness. The national bird of this country is Raven, which is related to the royal crown. The national animal is the Takin. The national flower is the Blue Poppy. 300 species of medicinal plants are found in Bhutan. It has preserved the endangered animal species like Snow leopards, Bengal tigers and the red panda along with the Ghorals, the Himalayan black bear, Sambars, wild pigs, musk deer and the barking deer. There are more than 670 species of bird, including White bellied heron, Blyth’s King fisher and Pallas Fish eagle.

The famous national parks and wildlife reserve in Bhutan are Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Royal Manas National Park, Wangchuck Wildlife Sanctuary and Khaling Wildlife Sanctuary. Trekking and hiking are popular holiday activities in Bhutan. The well loved trekking routes are Druk Path Trek, Jomolhari Laya Gasa Trek, Jomolhari Loop Merak Sakteng Trek, Gangtey Trek, Bumthang Cultural Trek. Chomolhari (7316m), Jitchu Drake and Tsering Gang are stunning Himalayan range in Bhutan.
