Kathmandu Valley passes the historical torch for generations and generations in Nepal. The travel activities, historical and cultural significance carried by the Kathmandu Valley is second to none throughout the country. Having a total area of 348.50 sq. mi, Kathmandu valley lies at the central part of Nepal and consists three districts; Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. But Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. According to the myth, Kathmandu Valley used to be a lake. One day, God Manjushree came and cut a gorge at a valley called Chobar with her sword and drained away all the waters of the valley. It eventually became suitable for habitat and human settlement took place. The oldest known objects and buildings in Kathmandu Valley dates over 2000 years. Licchavis, Mallas and Shahs ruled over Kathmandu Valley for centuries.  Kathmandu Valley is full with historical memorials and several Hindus and Buddhists Pilgrimage sites. Seven of the ten places of Nepal listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site lies at Kathmandu Valley alone. Poon Hill Trekking

Many people enjoyed walking in nature and love to experience of different cultures often. They can do so while trekking and hiking in Nepal Himalayan. Being at the height of 3210 meters above the sea level, Poon Hill trekking is one of the popular trekking area in Annapurna Conservation area. The Ghorepani poon hill trekking offers beautiful sunrise over the Annapurna and mount Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges. You need to stay overnight at the Ghorepani 2800 meters from the Sea level. it is the center area before the poon Hill. Allot of peoples arrive here from three different ways. Here are many guest houses but still difficult to get rooms during the main seasons. Your agency can book the rooms as well but you need to book the trip minimum a month before then your arrival in Nepal through the trekking company. They Can easily manage through the owner of the guest house.

From Ghorepani to Poon Hill takes 45 minutes to 1 hour, early in the morning. Everyone should have warm clothiers, head lamp, sunglass, camera and drinking water with you to hike the Poon Hill.

 Short treks in Nepal

We have many different short trekking areas in Nepal. We are focusing for best trekking area in Annapurna area and Everest. If you are interesting at the short trip in Annapurna, you may complete with in a week from Kathmandu. You can scramble with local culture of Gurung and Magar. They have own community and cultures including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayas ranges. Similarly, you can have chance to swimming nature hot spring and explore at the deepest gorges of Nepal.

Annapurna south and Himchuli

Other hand, if you would like to see mount Everest within a week, you may go to Everest view trekking. You need to fly east from Kathmandu early morning. It takes 45 minutes to get Lukla and your trekking start as the same time to Phakding. You can see the Mount Everest right next day from Namche Bazaar and Everest view point.

Everest Helicopter Tour

 An alternative for people who are short on time to visit Mt. Everest is take a helicopter to landing at the Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar even though it is in to Sagarmatha national park. It is just four hours around trip from Kathmandu airport including landing at best view point of mount Everest. We are providing Helicopter tour to Gokyo Lake from Shyangbouche and Kathmandu as well. But if you would like to go to Gokyo Lake, the time and cost will be extra. You need to consult before than your arrival in Kathmandu regarding the trip.

Annapurna Helicopter Tour:

Another helicopter tour for limited time to the Mt. Annapurna Heli tour. It’s also known as Annapurna Sanctuary. By being surrounded by giant mountains of Annapurna, provides you the best panoramic Mountain Views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Manasalu and Ganesh Himal while you are flying from Kathmandu. Although, we have some helicopters at the Pokhara too. We can provide you such helicopter tour to Annapurna from Pokhara as well. It takes 45 minutes flying trip and 15 minutes ground landing. During the tour you are able to experience with beautiful Rice terrace, glaciers and ice-moraine.  Get to have an aerial view of Rhododendron forest during the spring.

Everest Base Camp Trekking

Mount Everest Base Camp trekking start from Kathmandu and end up in Kathmandu. You need to take ATR plane from Kathmandu to Lukla early in the morning. The trek to Everest Base Camp is 12 to 16 days around trip. Boundless Adventure provides Trekking permits, flight tickets, Trekking guide, necessary trekking equipment from Kathmandu and Potters are from Lukla. You can get guest house or Tea house every single area. But guests’ houses are can be full earlier in the day during the busiest season.  

Every tea house offers mineral water to drink but the price will be increasing with you and colder. We suggest you better you may drink hot water every time. You can contact with your guide and he / she will manage you even though need to cover some. You need to have mettle’s drinking water bottle and a camel bottle with you all the time.

Regarding the foods, you can get Italian, Mexican and Indian but, we are suggesting you better to have local food. The local foods are more hygienic and fresher.  Similarly, be local and used local products.

Restricted trekking area in Nepal.

Nepal is small country in the world, but here are so many different trekking areas. Among of them nonrestricted some of are restricted.  Restrict trekking area are Upper Mustang Trekking, Manaslu trekking, Tsum valley, Nar Phu valley, Upper Dolpo and lower dolpo. Similarly, every trekking area are requiring trekking permits but restricted trekking area require special trekking permits and normal permits as well. If you are Solo, then it is not allowed to get single entry permits. Anyway, Boundless Adventure provides you Sharing and group trekking permits for Every restrict trekking area. Here are the major trekking areas and permits coat.

  1. Upper Mustang: -Upper mustang is in to Annapurna conservation area the permits cost US$ 500/- for first 10 days and US$ 50/- every day per person. Group should be 2 people or more, also local permits US4 30 and TIMS cost US$ 20/
  2. Manaslu trekking: - Manaslu trekking is in to the Manasalu conservation area the permits cost US$ about 100/- a first 10 days and US$ 10 per day. Also, local permits are necessary including Manaslu and Annapurna.
  3. Tsum Valley: - Tsum valley is also in to the Manaslu conservation area. The permits coat of Tsum valley is US$ 35/- per person up to 8 days plush you need to pay additional cost of local permits.
  4. Nar Phu valley: The Nar phu valley is in to the Annapurna conservation area. The permits cost US$ 90/- per week, per person plush need to have Conservation permits of Annapurna and TIME permits.
  5. Lower Dolpa: The lower Dolpa trekking is far western site of Nepal. It is beautiful and remote trekking destination of Nepal. It is very less crowded due to camping trekking but trek to lower Dolpa is best trekking with Phokosundo Lake and local secreted culture. The trekking permits cost US$ 10/- per week per person. You can collect such permits from Boundless Adventure in Kathmandu.
  6. Upper Dolpa: The upper dolpa trekking is also very remote but adventure trekking area of Nepal. We have to arrange several different flights to start Upper Dolpa trekking. Off course Boundless Adventure provide flight tickets and Helicopter charter id needed and another trekking permits as well. Upper Dolpa trekking permits cost first 10 days US$ 500/- every day US$ 50/- Per person. Off course it is also necessary to do camping trekking.

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking

Yes, probably you had been Annapurna Base Camp several times already. It is famous by Annapurna century trekking as well. Trek to Annapurna Base Camp is locked by at 4200 Meters from sea level of westers part of Nepal. It is beautiful but dangerous trekking area by the avalanche. You need to have a trekking guide with you even though you are trekking with a bunch of groups. Off course trekking in Annapurna Base Camp is luxury trekking. You can have lovely western food and hot shower every day including lap of the Annapurna Himalayan range. Yes, it is necessary to have trekking permits with you. You can get trekking permits from Boundless Adventure with your guide.
