Langtang Valley trekking is exciting in the area situated on the 90 KM north of Kathmandu .The Langtang valley trip was supposed to be discovered by a lama (monks) following a runaway yak according to the legend. Langtang means, Lang means Yak and tang means to follow. Langtang valley trip is described as the most beautiful valley in the world by British mountaineer Bill Tillman. It is an adventurous walk that goes through a high alpine valley, rhododendron forest that blossoms with its various colors in the spring season, pine forest, alpine flowers, swift mountain streams and craggy rock. The Langtang Lirung (7246m) is the highest peak in the Langtang Himalayan range Valley.
Trekking in Langtang Valley lies in the Langtang National Park. It is the first protected area in the Himalayas. It offers an opportunity to explore Langtang village and a Langtang glacier at the top of the village. Every Langtang trekker requires trekking permit and TIMS for the trekking. The Langtang trip welcomes you with magnificent Mountain views, brightly painted curtains, flags of Buddhist prayer, and highlighted walls with Buddhist mantras. The local settlement is inhabited by ethnic community- Tamang, closely with the Tibetan traditions, culture and lifestyles. Chirikho-Ri is the highest viewpoint of the trekking. Such awesome geographical landscape and nature, cultural panorama have made the trail popular for trekkers. You will frequently pass by the herds of horse and Yak. The tingling, tingling bells make a musical tune hanged on their neck. Heading through typical and unique traditional villages is superb. Langtang valley passes unspoiled forests, high-elevation meadows of wild sheep, pocket area for snow leopard and Red Panda.
Trekking in the valley of Langtang begins from Dhunche or Syabrubesi according to the atmosphere after 6-7 hours drive bus from Kathmandu. It is scenic and fascinating views along the bus drive. Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m) - 4/5 hours.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang village (3,430m): 5/6 hours
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m): 3-4 hours
Day 07: Kyanjing Explore day.
Day 08: Trek back to Lama Hotel. (2380m) 5-6 hours
Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru: 5-6 hours.
Day 10: Trek to Dhunche 2020m 4/5 hours.
